1.Project name: Development of Language Tests based on an Error Analysis of a Learner Corpus of English
2.Outline of the Project:
For this project, first, as preliminary research, we will investigate some of the issues arising from the application of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) reference level descriptions of receptive skills to authentic texts, and then we will develop language tests based on an error analysis of a learner corpus of English.

5.Progress:
As preliminary research for language test development based on an error analysis of a learner corpus of English, we investigated some of the issues arising from the application of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) reference level descriptions of listening skill to authentic listening texts. In this research, we classified the natural language data of English speakers in line with the can-do statements for listening in the CEFR and searched for the features contributing to their difficulty levels. In addition, we conducted similar research into the can-do statements for reading in parallel to listening. Also, we are now developing English language tests based on an error analysis of the learner corpus.
